Our team

Our founding team includes some of the industry’s most respected leaders in AI, healthcare simulation, and medical education. Each founder brings a unique perspective and a shared commitment to transforming healthcare through technology, working tirelessly to shape a future where AI-powered simulation improves healthcare outcomes for all.

Dr. Amar Patel

Dr. Amar Patel is an adjunct instructor at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and the co-founder and principal of Power of One Consulting. He has focused his career on advancing healthcare education through AI and technology integration. He has been a leader in simulation and e-learning, with a strong emphasis on personalized learning experiences and artificial intelligence's role in transforming healthcare education. Dr. Patel oversaw global initiatives as the former Chief Learning Officer at CAE Healthcare. He has served in various leadership roles, developing innovative educational programs and providing consulting services to institutions worldwide. His expertise includes curriculum development, project management, and building advanced learning environments incorporating cutting-edge technology. In addition to his role at Power of One Consulting, Dr. Patel co-founded the AI Healthcare Simulation Collaborative.

Dr. Isabel Gross

Dr. Isabel Theresia Gross is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at Yale University School of Medicine. At Yale, she serves as the Director of Pediatric Simulations teaching all learner levels across the University and hospital system. She is the incoming Chair of the International Network for Simulation-based Pediatric Innovation, Research, & Education (INSPIRE). Together with Dr. Janice Palaganas, she co-founded the Healthcare Distance Simulation Collaborative (HDSC). Dr. Gross is an established simulation-based researcher and research mentor for her international colleagues. Her simulation-based research focus is on distance simulation, international outreach simulations, and the explorations of new approaches in simulation-based education including artificial intelligence.

Dr. Maria Bajwa

Dr. Maria Bajwa is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston and adjunct faculty at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale and Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. She leads AI-related educational projects as the Lead Faculty Researcher at the Center of Excellence in Healthcare Simulation Research and the REBEL Lab at the MGH Institute.
Dr. Bajwa developed distance simulation educator guidelines, and her research covers technology integration in simulation with a focus on educator competencies, human factors, diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has conducted numerous simulation and AI-focused professional development sessions for diverse national and international educational audiences. Her leadership includes chairing the Virtual Simulation Section of the Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSiH), co-chairing various New York State simulation organizations, and serving on the Simulation Certification Council of the SSiH.

Dr. Alex Morton

Dr. Alex Morton currently serves as the Junior Vice President of Content and Curriculum Strategy at SimConverse. Dr. Morton began her career as a nurse, with clinical experience in pediatric emergency and intensive care, as well as neonatal intensive care. Her time at the bedside highlighted the gaps in communication skills training and inspired her passion for advancing the field of simulation to address these issues. Dr. Morton earned her PhD in Health Professions Education from the MGH Institute of Health Professions, where her research focused on engagement in distance debriefing. She has held various leadership roles, including a two-year term as Co-Chair of the Annual Healthcare Distance Simulation Summit and co-founding the AI Healthcare Simulation Collaborative.
